COVID Vaccination

Vaccination against COVID-19 will play a critical role in protecting the health of our community. The New Zealand Association of Musculoskeletal Medicine fully supports their members being vaccinated. The association agrees with the Medical Council that it is an ethical and professional obligation to be vaccinated, unless medically contraindicated.

Furthermore, the NZAMM agrees with the Medical Council that we have an important legal role in providing evidence-based information to our patients about vaccination. Anti-vaccination messaging in public forums is not professional. The Medical Council has stated that they have the powers to sanction doctors that voice dubious advice to patients as it is a competency issue.
